Many of these musicians are affiliated with the non-profit Tahoe Truckee School of Music. Ben Martin is the executive director of the school. One noteworthy event sponsored by TTSM was an outdoor concert in Tahoe City (summer 2021) entitled “Return to Laurel Canyon.” As the name implies, we played covers of music by bands from that time and place such as The Doors, Canned Heat, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Joni Mitchell, and others. Sugar Pines band members served as the band “core” and there were numerous local guest artists who joined in to do a song or two. Way fun!!
